Father's Day 2.0
14 months old - today!

It's that time again... High fives to Richard Farmer for surviving his first full year of fatherhood. We won't say it was easy-breezy, but what a fantastic, educational, testing, loving, wonderful year it has been. His first Father's Day was literally, a test of pure survival - find ways to get enough rest, problem solve to understand why she was crying, yadda, yadda, yadda. Since then, the little enigma has become a bit easier to solve. Even though she's in a mommy-only stage, she loves her Daddy (and begging for his Laughing Cow)!!

This Father's Day has proven to be a typical day for us... realizing yet again, this isn't our lives anymore, it's hers. We had plans of church, a nap, lunch at Daddy's favorite restaurant, Mommy and Nora were going to swim with some friends, while Daddy went bowling. To this point (2pm), the only thing that has gone to plan is church. She's been transitioning to one nap a day this week, so naturally, the little minx wasn't tired when we got home from church, so we cancelled our lunch reservations and ate leftovers. Now she's sleeping through what would have been pool time. Oy. I'll leave it at that.
In other news... I'd say she'll be walking within the next couple of weeks. She's now standing up on her own without having something to pull up on. She just hasn't taken that step.

Last night we went to a summer solstice party. I now assume she needs an audience to really perform - she just went on and climbed up a flight of stairs (we don't have stairs and she's never been around them) completely unassisted. Climbed them like she's been climbing them her whole life. Then she performs her little trick of pulling to standing without any help. Little diva.

Just for laughs, I had to include this one. For some reason, it's better to take food from her tray, put it on the table (see the circle), then eat it from there. It must taste better??
We're traveling next week, so the blog could be delayed.
