the adventure begins

When Farmer and I decided we wanted to have a little munchkin, we agreed from the get go that we would drag the little lady everywhere we went. We weren't joking. As of this post her adventures are just beginning.
First stop, my hometown, Clanton, Alabama. First question... did you drive or are you flying? Flying, of course. Little lady needed to get her wings. In case of a meltdown, I put together a sort of bribery bag for passengers around us. Luckily, she was an angel, so everyone around us just got a little treat!

She got her picture made with the pilot and head flight attendant. Delta was amazing and officially gave her wings. Hopefully, our flight back home will be just as pleasant.

Like any small town, there's that one thing every year that people come out in droves for. The Peach Festival is it. We have pageants and queens, candy and parades, BBQ and auctions, block parties and road races. If you aren't in the parade, you go watch it. If you aren't in the pageant, you support those who are. And, well, every one loves a good peach auction and good southern BBQ. Naturally, Nora needed to experience this as soon as possible. She was totally chill through the fire trucks and bands - it was great!

Saturday afternoon we had a big family get together of my dad's family. It's amazing how much our family has grown, but we all love to see each other - of course, everyone loved Miss Nora - she was quite the show stopper. Meeting her aunt, uncle, great aunt, great uncle, second cousins and third cousins!

The week Nora was born, my dad (Paw Paw) had been bush hogging our property back home and had noticed a pine tree that had sprouted. He decided to keep the tree alive and to watch it grow with Nora. This is our first picture. I don't think she has a chance of catching up with the tree:)

Some other fun highlights from the week.
• Bath time is no longer a bad time!!
• She's trying to find her feet.
• She's sort of getting an interest in toys. And by "sort of" I mean she'll actually look at something you dangle in front of her for a millisecond.
• She's been sleeping through the night (9:30pm-5am)!!! The trip has kind of thrown things out of whack, but her bedtime has stayed consistent. YAY!
The pictures below are the result of us getting bored in the Atlanta airport late Friday night. Every time she heard the camera and saw the light she got these crazy looks on her face. It cracked us up!
