When Daddy's Away...
The girls will play. Well, sort of. "Playing" for a three-year-old isn't as scandalous as you might think:)
Daddy had a boys weekend planned, so the original plan was to scoot down to Alabama for the Peach Festival. Unfortunately, weather canceled the festivities so we decided to postpone the trip to a time when all of us could go.
What to do?? Well, we woke up Saturday morning and it was a gorgeous day. Low 70s, no humidity, spectacular. Since we have an early riser, we were at the Farmer's Market at 7:15 - early bird gets the worm, right? And mud puddles. They get mud puddles too. Then we hit up the local nursery to pick up {free} vegetables for the garden. The nursery has a resident doggy dog, Bella - which, Nora Farmer is very familiar. She also knows that Bella often takes naps in the office, which is conveniently located to the restroom. We HAD to see Bella. After three trips to the restroom - on the final trip, we walk out of the bathroom and there was Bella. It was worth it.
We came home and got our new veggies in the ground. I didn't get my phone up quick enough. She had actually started getting all the pots out and putting them in place.
Then we went to meet up with Uncle G and Aunt Wiz. Side note: On Friday night, when I broke the news to Nora that we weren't going to see PawPaw (but we were going to see Liz and Garrett) and we weren't going to the parade where they throw candy (but we ARE going Target and you can pick out whatever you want) and we aren't picking blueberries with Aunt Char (but we are going to the Farmer's Market - see above). So, knowing she would be seeing Aunt Wiz and Uncle, her "pick out anything you want at Target" she decided would be "surprises" for Liz and Garrett. Adorable, right? Here's their loot - she picked it all.
I'm officially exhausted. I did let her sleep in my bed - which she did totally fine - and I just went to bed with her... at 8:15pm! Momma got some good sleep this weekend.
