Happy 6th Birthday
Well, it was definitely one to remember. To say we overcompensated would be an understatement. There were balloons, scavenger hunts, cupcakes, pizza cakes and regular cakes. We climbed trees and hiked and built obstacle courses.
On birthday eve we had a surprise left on our porch...
Birthday morning brought lots of surprises. We had saved up all the mail she had gotten so she could open it all at once, but not until she watched her birthday video. Here's a timelapse of her watching it... she was SO excited. It was really cute.
We created a scavenger hunt around the house, with clues so she could find her gifts.
We had birthday cupcakes with lunch. Ta da.
Then we went for a hike.
And had a makeshift photo shoot.
Her classmates sang "Happy Birthday" to her on their conference call.
Then there were balloons.
Then we climbed a tree.
And we had a picnic with her birthday dinner food of choice and another candle! I think we sang "Happy Birthday" at least 3 times on Tuesday.
Then there was a special surprise from her BFF!!
And then we were hungover for 3 days. She didn't want to go to bed because she "didn't want her birthday to end." The next day she took a 2-hour nap. The next day she crawled into my lap while I was on a conference and fell asleep.
Then came Saturday. We allowed the grandmothers and her uncle to come over. Sissy delivered on her birthday cake tradition. That's donuts and rainbows (see video).

It was a big week, guys. On Sunday's we've started watching church with Sissy. Which means every two weeks - there's Cash time. Bless his heart he's a good sport.
I'm not sure how we'll top last week, but we'll figure something out. Thanks to all who wished her birthday love. She was beside herself.
