Another week down

More on week 5.
I'm already confused on how to count how old she is... when you say, "your 5 weeks old," that means you've completed the 5th week, right, not that you're starting the 5th week???? Why do I make this so complicated??

Some fun things we've noticed this week:

1. Grasping: she's started to "take hold" of things. Shirts, necklaces, just whatever her little hand can a get a hold of.

2. Hates being naked: She means this with the utmost intensity. Every time we change a diaper... she screams. Don't even mention bath time. Her whole body turns red she gets so pissed off. We get full on tears and the ultimate hysterics. It's pretty funny.

3. Propping: when we roll over for tummy time, she's been able to prop up on her elbows. it's not a graceful "prop" {insert bobble head}, but she's propped and trying to hold her head steady. She's been able to lift her head since the minute she was born, literally, it's just a matter of keeping it steady.

4. Cooing: she's started a bit of cooing and "singing" to herself. As most of you know, it's really cute.

5. Pacifier love: against what we had hoped, the pacifier is her best friend. it's definitely given us some extra time of sleep and it keeps her occupied when she's not really hungry, but just seems bored. We had hoped to only allow her to have it while she was sleeping or in bed, but we used it several times this week when out and about.

6. Trips downtown: she got to meet and have lunch with my coworkers on Friday, while also "strolling" the streets of downtown OKC. Pretty sure she was born for city life!

7. Napping on Daddy: her highlight of the weekend. Mommy's highlight too - warms my heart to see it.

8. Grocery shopping: she sleeps through it, but people just ogle at her and tell us what a great baby she is.

9. Church: this is her 4th week of church. Now, we attend Lifechurch, which is really loud, but she's slept through 2 of the 4 services. It's amazing. Chick's like her mom, she can sleep through anything.

10. Walks and outdoor time: we go for 2 walks a day. She eventually sleeps through them all, but the bits where she's awake, she's completely in awe. I love when it's cloudy and we can take the shade down… she gazes in the sky and all around - the look on her face is priceless - it's like she's seeing the most amazing thing of her life. Sensory overload at it's best.

11. Dining out: she made maiden voyages to Upper Crust, Cafe 7, Cheesecake Factory and Panang 2. Slept through half of 2 and slept through all of the other 2 (shocker).

12. Thunder Basketball: already being taught the importance of superstition - she "Thundered Up" with mom and dad for the playoffs. Too bad the season is over:/

Until next week...
