From the heart

I was talking to my dad this week and we were talking about this blog. We talk about how much work it is and how I often have a hard time knowing what to write. His advice... "what you've been doing, write from your heart." So, from my heart it shall be.
I can't explain to you how much she has come to life in these past couple of weeks. I'm sure she's no different than any other child her age, but this is all new to us, so as far as we're concerned, no other baby - EVER - could be this cool and intrigued by the world around her. She smiles and laughs and hugs and gives kisses. She wants her "Mama." She loves her Daddy and looks for her Daddy, but she wants Mama. Melt. My. Heart.

She's quite curious - which is great, except that she's mobile - so whatever she's curious about, she can actually get to. And when she can't get to it, well, cue the meltdown.
She knows where her room is and that it contains different toys than what's in the living room. We're constantly back and forth between the two.
Her crawling has transitioned into the one knee and one foot combination. She's definitely picked up speed... and courage.

She loves avocado's, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, apples, pears and Amy's organic hot pockets. Yes, our child has expensive taste. She loves grilled chicken, lemon-pepper chicken, thai chicken, animal crackers and Laughing Cow cheese. She loves yogurt and applesauce. We're working on her feeding herself with a spoon and from the pouches - that's quite the messy experience.
She hates socks.

She's obsessed with the kitchen cabinets and the back door.
She loves being outside.

She loves Ferg.
She's started this 4pm fit-pitching. It starts before we pick her up from daycare and lasts for another 30 minutes or so - it's bizarre, but we assume it's a phase. A walk, some play time and food usually take care of it. Maybe she just wants to hang with her folks:)
We had a fun time at home this weekend. I FINALLY had my wisdom teeth + 1 taken out on Friday. That's five teeth, folks. Yes, good drugs - BUT, Farmer came down with a cold, so it wasn't all the rest and relaxation I had hoped for. I did manage to get out and have some Mommy time this afternoon - it was enjoyable:)
Back to Nora - she loves the remote control and understands what it does. She now has her own remote control (minus the batteries).
She loves music and anything that makes sounds. She even dances. It's really funny... see!
Loves peek-a-book (aka "Where's Nora?") Here and here.
Ask her any question and she shakes her head, "no." Ummmm, we don't like where that's going:)
She can blow kisses and high five.
We think she's the most adorable being we've ever laid eyes on. I wish all parents felt that way. My heart aches for babies who will never know the love we have for Nora.

Lastly, we had to say an extended goodbye to our friends Bobbi and Chad today. They leave for South Bend, IN tomorrow morning where Chad will be earning his MBA from Notre Dame. We're so proud of him, but will miss both of them dearly. They are amazing people and we consider them lifelong friends. My motto is that it's not goodbye, we'll just be friends in different states:)

It IS amazing, isn't it? Some people don't absolutely love their children, to the point where they would gladly die for them to keep them from pain. It hurts my heart. But I am so happy Nora has such good parents! Couldn't ask for anything better :)
